The winter was not much of a winter here in Jena. The snowiest picture I could make is here (picture taken March 18th):
The snow stayed for about a week. We live just under 400 meters elevation. In Jena itself (150m) there was really not a whole lot. By the way, here you can see the finished house some people decided to build in our view to Leuchtenburg (castle on a hill about 25km south) :-)
When we were in Denmark with Easter there was a little bit more snow. Especially when we left back home heading for Jena:
This picture was taken March 25th in Marielyst, Denmark. It was actually not a huge problem to back the car out of the driveway again.
We drove slowly to the ferry in Gedser and on the other side in Rostock the snow was gone and the sun was shining (sort of):
